Cancer affects the intestine
Early detection of colorectal cancer is crucial for successful therapy. Prevention plays a decisive role here, as this is how changes are detected in the first place and how their development can be documented. Screening examinations for colorectal cancer are offered in Germany from the age of 50.
Where can you find specialists for a radiological bowel examination?
By means of an intestinal examination, a tumor in this area is potentially detected at an early stage. After classification, an optimal treatment can be started.
As with most cancers, the earlier it is detected, the better the chance of cure. Just ask our specialists!
What are the examinations?
At an early stage, colorectal cancer is not easy to notice, problems in the abdomen are often very diffuse. As the tumor size increases, the corresponding symptoms become more specific and can be more clearly assigned. Then, however, therapy can prove to be very complex.
Therefore, it makes sense and is important for men and women to engage in colorectal cancer screening as early as possible. In Germany, men are entitled to a screening examination from the age of 50, and women from 55. In the case of unclear findings, further radiological assessment may be possible – for example, by means of a virtual colonoscopy or an MRI of the intestine, the so-called MR-Sellink.
