Where can you have irradiation performed in Munich?
For the irradiation of benign diseases, such as osteoarthritis, bursitis or joint pain, our specialists are available at our locations at Maximiliansplatz, at the Schwabing Clinic in Munich and in Wolfratshausen. Select a location and make an appointment with our specialists to work out a treatment plan together.
Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease in which the joint cartilage wears away irreversibly. With increasing wear and tear, the bones also become inflamed, whereupon pain increases in the course of the disease and the mobility of the joints decreases. Osteoarthritis most commonly occurs in the shoulder, hand, hip, foot, knee and elbow.
Although the disease is not curable, the pain and inflammation can be effectively treated. The speed at which joints wear out can also be reduced. In addition to conservative treatment options, X-ray stimulation irradiation can also act on inflammatory processes.
Bursitis
Bursae are fluid-filled tissue cushions. They serve as buffers between joints or between bones and tendons, muscles or ligaments. Bursitis is common in the shoulder, elbow, knee, foot and hip. The bursae prevent these structures from wearing out quickly with pressure and friction.
A first step to improving symptoms is to rest or cool the overstressed areas of the body. If these measures or medication do not achieve the desired results, the patient can also benefit from shock wave therapy or radiation therapy – an important therapy supplement.
Irradiation on the hand
Diseases of the hands, such as osteoarthritis or palmar fibromatosis, inflammation or wear and tear of the finger joints cause the mobility of the fingers to steadily decrease. In addition, accompanying pain can also reduce the quality of life of those with the disease.
Especially in the early stages of such a hand disease, radiation therapy can help to slow down or even stop the progression of the disease. Low-dose X-ray stimulation irradiation can reduce inflammation in the hand and improve blood flow to the joints. In this way, pain can be relieved and the mobility of the fingers can be improved.
Foot irradiation
Benign conditions such as plantar fibromatosis, heel spurs, or other acute or chronic inflammation of the foot can significantly limit a person’s mobility due to pain and compromised joints.
Inflammation, calcium deposits, connective tissue growths or wear and tear of joints can be treated well in the early stages of the disease. With the help of low-dose X-ray stimulation irradiation or shock wave therapy, the treatment can improve the quality of life of the individuals again.
Tennis Elbow
One-sided physical stress, such as occurs when playing tennis, golf, darts, playing music or using a PC mouse, can cause pain and limit the mobility of the arm. The reason for this is tendonitis of the forearm muscle due to overuse.
Here, numerous therapeutic approaches can help reduce the pain and restore the arm’s mobility. X-ray stimulation irradiation, for example, uses a low-dose radiation to initiate healing processes in the diseased area. As a result, an improvement in the condition occurs after a short period of time.
